July 26 - Thanks Best One Tire!

Best One Tire has decided to donate new tires for the project car.  The Newburgh and Burkhart Road stores are splitting the costs.  We really appreciate their willingness to support our efforts, and therefore Easter Seals!  The refurbished wheels are now at the Newburgh store awaiting the tires, hopefully we'll have them ready to install as soon as next Tuesday!

Today we had four people (Vince, Dave M, Ray, and Clay) working.  Vince got the rest of the lighting working, even including backup lights and hazard warning lights.  Dave M continued the carpeting installation.  Clay completed the assembly of the driver's seat, installed windshield wipers, and cleaned up some electrical connections.  Ray cleaned up and painted the convertible top frame and hood prop rod.

Vince has decided to donate the convertible top from his '68 MGB.  It's in great shape, about 7 years old and rarely been installed.  He prefers a top with the zip out rear window, which he'll get later.  In another week or so we'll make sure this top fits well on the project car.

Pictures from today:

This picture has the seats just sitting there, sure look nice!  Another week or so we'll finish the carpet and complete seat installation.

July 19 Update

Dave M, Al, and Vince worked today.  Dave continued installation of the carpeting.  Al used his painting skills to paint the steering wheel hub and some areas around dashboard switches black.  Vince fixed all wiring on the rear of the car - turn signals, running lights, and brake lights.  And we all worked together installing the hood.
